A study or caprice (selected by contestant) to choose among the following:

Study No. 9 or Study No. 33
Alfredo Piatti  Caprice No. 3 or Caprice No. 6
Jean Louis Duport Study  No. 12 for cello solo



And the required piece composed specially for the Competition by Jimmy López (Perú, 1978. Winner of the Kranichsteiner Musikpreis, Germany, 2008), which will be sent to each contestant as soon as we receive the Admission Form, not later than the end of April 2009.  



Secound Satage – August 26, 2009



A work for solo cello or cello and piano by an Ibero-American composer, to choose among the following:



Desafío for cello and piano  Marlos Nobre (Brazil) (complete)
Suite for cello solo, movements I, III y V Samuel Zyman (Mexico)
Rapsodia for cello and piano Esteban Benzekry (Argentina) (complete)
Glosa for cello Jesús Torres (1965, Spain. Reina Sofía Prize, 1999)
      

And a work, to choose among the following:



Ludwig van Beethoven  Sonata No. 4 (complete)
Johannes Brahms   Sonata No. 2 (two contrasting movements)
Dmitri Shostakovich  Sonata Op. 40 (two contrasting movements)
Claude Debussy  Sonata (complete)
